Issue 11 - Summer 2025
Welcome to the Summer 2025 issue of Androids and Dragons.
This is the time of year when book critics and publishers tout novels we simply must add to our summer reading lists. I’ve never made a reading list, and yet, I have cherished memories of summer days spent voraciously reading books of all sorts—escaping into the future worlds imagined by Robert Heinlein, immersing myself in experiences far different from my own recounted in Manchild in the Promised Land, trying to stay one step ahead of Hercule Poirot in solving the mysteries of Agatha Christie, and reading ever so slowly as the end of a particularly good book approached so I could savor its story that much longer.
If I could describe my summer reading memories in one word, it would be eclectic. That also happens to be the best word to describe this summer’s stories here at Androids and Dragons. They do not follow a single theme, but they are all tales you can enjoy reading, whether you are relaxing in a hammock on your front porch, sipping margaritas by the pool, sunning yourself on a beach, or relaxing after a long hike. Whether or not you have a summer reading list, we hope you will include us in your summer reading experience.
We are pleased to present the following tales for your reading pleasure:
“Reassigning Mortimer” by Ron Wetherington (June 30)
